City Council

The City Council consists of a six-citizen board, with two members for each of Keene's three wards. Three council seats, one from each ward, are up for election every two years. The Mayor is also considered a part of the City Council, though not normally a voting member.

The City Council is responsible for establishing city policies, considering city resolutions and ordinances, appointing citizens to various city boards and commissions, adopting the city's Master Plan and annual budget, and approving or rejecting requested zoning changes.

The public is invited to attend all City Council meetings. The Council generally meets every other Thursday of each month in the City Council Chamber at Keene City Hall.
