    Location and Hours

    The water department is located at City Hall, and may be reached by telephone at 817-641-3336 x39. Office hours are weekdays, 8am to 5pm, excluding holidays.

    New Customers

    New customers must pay a deposit of $100.00 before service is connected. To pay your deposit, please come to City Hall and show your driver's license. If you are renting, please also bring a copy of your lease agreement.

    Due Dates

    Water bills are due on the seventh of each month. If the seventh falls on a weekend or holiday, the bill is due on the next business day. A 10% late charge is incurred if your bill is not paid on time. If your bill is still unpaid by the 15th of the month, your service will be disconnected.


    There are four ways to pay your bill. You may pay in person, online, via telephone, or by mail. For more information about each payment method, read our payment instructions.

    Rates and Fees

    Keene's water, sewer, and garbage pick-up services are all rolled into one bill, for your convenience. For complete information about our rates and fees, including residential and commercial service, read our rate schedule.

    Water reconnect $25.00
    Water reconnect - after hours $50.00
    Pulled meter charge $30.00
    Unauthorized water turned on $40.00
    Bypassing water system $500.00
    Transfer fee $10.00
    Re-read meter at customer request
    No charge if the city is in error

    Check for Leaks

    One of the first indications of a water leak is an unexplained increase in the usage amount and dollar amount on your monthly water bill. If there is an increase in usage that cannot be explained otherwise, there is a possibility that you have a water leak. Click for ways to check for leaks.
